ELECTRONIC HOUSE CALL -- February 26, 1998

IS IT REAL?
Richard Schenkar, attorney and researcher, sent the following gem of information in his to-the-point "Wednesday Wisdom" e-mail update (mailto:schenkar@aol.com).

Have you ever received a frightened e-mail message about a virus? There is a place you can check these out--the US Department of Energy's Computer Incident Advisory Capability (CIAC) home page at http://ciac.llnl.gov (don't use "www" in your command -- this is not on the Web). There is a "chain-letter" section and an "Internet hoax" section of the site. Next time you get one of these messages (and I seem to get chain letters every day) check them out on the CIAC site.

DO YOU LIKE FREE STUFF?
Boy, do we have a list of free stuff! It is so big, in fact, that I dared not include it in the text of this message or you would be overwhelmed . . . so I posted it on my website instead. To check it out, click on http://www.restaurantdoctor.com/freebies.html.

PLACES TO GO, PEOPLE TO MEET
You know that there are incredible resources on the 'net but who has the time to search them out? Well, since this edition seems to be about lists, I have a huge new list of industry links, courtesy of my friends at Restaurant Report (http://www.restaurantreport.com). It is posted at http://www.restaurantdoctor.com/links.html. This is a supplement to my own list of industry links at http://www.restaurantdoctor.com/biglinks.html. Happy surfin'!

THE NEW SEMINAR IS SHAPING UP
I am excited about "How to Increase Your Cash Flow by 50% and Get Your Life Back . . . in 90 Days . . . Guaranteed!" The dates I mentioned -- in the Chicago area just before the NRA Show (5/14-16), Seattle (5/28-30), Tampa (6/1-3) and Denver (6/5-7) -- still look good. Group size will be limited to 30 people, so get me your name if you want first crack at a spot on the list.

ON THE ROAD IN MARCH
Upcoming public programs: I will be in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on March 2 for the Eau Claire Forum sponsored by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. I will be presenting at the Ben E. Keith food show in Oklahoma City, March 5. I will be in Sioux Falls, SD on March 15 for the South Dakota show and in NYC from March 29-31 at the New York Restaurant Show. If you are in the area, please drop by and say hello. For what it may be worth, my current calendar is always posted at http://www.restaurantdoctor.com/calendar.html.

This will give you plenty to chew on until my next edition. Thanks for your time and Happy Spring!
