ELECTRONIC HOUSE CALL - March 5, 1999
MANAGING BY DISAPPROVAL
Notice how often you attempt to shape behavior in others through your disapproval, however subtle. The first step in correcting this unfortunate habit is catching
yourself doing it. When you do, cop to it and apologize. Then look for some way to reward behavior you WANT rather than to punish behavior you DON'T
want. It will be a lot more fun . . . and a lot more effective.
ADD TO YOUR READING LIST . . .
"The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding" by Al Reis. It is a deceptively easy read . . . and I guarantee you will totally re-think your entire marketing focus when you
are done! As my brilliant colleague Jim Laube says, there is a difference between building a business and running a restaurant. If you would rather be building a
business, read this book.
ANOTHER ONLINE RESOURCE
Phil Nieukirk sent me the following URL -- a free, downloadable list of business forms from Office Depot in the U.S. I pass this along with the hope that some of
them could be useful.
