ELECTRONIC HOUSE CALL - December 31, 1999

I hit you with enough philosophy last week, so my final issue of the year/decade/century/millenium will just be a few short takes . . . and my sincere best wishes for laughter, joy and prosperity in the year ahead.

I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER
Jerry Mistretta wrote: I read your holiday message on Dec. 24th & absolutely loved it. I just read it again & have printed it out to let my mgrs. read it. I too, get caught up in the middle of the forest & forget to enjoy and admire the beauty of the trees, the flowers, the birds, etc. I have the business that I only dreamed I could have. And now I need to slow down enough to savor the moment. My staff, my regular guests, my family, all deserve the utmost attention and respect. As you stated, we are in the hospilality business. I am extremely proud of what I do, and love making people of all kinds, happy and welcomed in my restaurant.

FOOD & COOKING SITES
If you are looking for information on either, my Canadian colleague Phil Nieukirk suggests http://www.cs.cmu.edu/%7Emjw/recipes/other-sites.html. I took a quick look and there are a lot of links there that might come in handy.

THE NEW HOUSE
For those who have asked, I am posting a weekly update on the construction progress of our new house on my website at www.restaurantdoctor.com. Click on the link for the New House Project.

THE MANAGEMENT INSIGHT SERIES™™
I am pleased with the initial response to my new project. If you have not had time to review it yet, the subscription information is also on my website. Click on the Management Insight Series logo. The added bonus tapes EHC subscribers is good until January 15th.
