The Road to Semur


The day looked promising, even after scraping the ice off the car windows. And in fact, all was well until we got within about 15 miles of Semur. I noticed the fog rolling over the hill (reminded me of San Francisco) and figured we might be in for a real change. We were. The trip became almost surreal. I love the shot of the trees. The dark masses in the branches are mistletoe. Kiss me, you fool!

We drove out of the fog and rolled back to Nolay. Here you can see how it is nestled in a valley. I never get tired of photos of Les Halles and with the bright sun ... well the only thing that would have improved it would be to see a market in full swing under those ancient timbers. Maybe on the next trip ...
