May 1 - Dam the Yangtze!
The ship ladder is massive, easily holding six large ships for the four-step ride to the lower level. Each step takes about 30 minutes and Marv and I sat on the foredeck for the entire two hours just fascinated by the process. There is a fifth lock that will not be needed until the water level is raised the remaining 75 feet.
