The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
May 9 - Guilin in the Rain

As predicted, it rained. I mean, REALLY rained. I mean awakened from a dead sleep at 5am by thunder and lightening -- that kind of rain. The thunder and lightening only lasted a couple of hours but it was mid-afternoon before the rain stopped. (Good think we didn't book the boat trip for today!)

In any event, it was a good excuse to coccoon a bit and get caught up on chores (like my weekly e-letter and the trip reports. As we have more and more photos to sort through and edit each day, this is turning into another career! I at least hope that somebody is actually reading it!

So it was a lazy day. We got out and wandered around a bit once the rain stopped, I added some photos to the reports of the last couple of days and we barely had enough energy to make it to dinner in the hotel. We were, however, on the inside of the waterfall show tonight. Very interesting ... and very similar to what it looked like this morning. Check the photos and you will See what I mean.

Tomorrow is supposed to be clear ... or at least clearer ... and we are scheduled for the river cruise. That should be spectacular.
