The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
A Moveable Feast

It took a little searching, but we finally found a spot for a picnic along the Dordogne River. Alas, no picnic tables or grassy lea beside the water, but we made due.

Dinner at Le Flots Bleu in Beaulieu apparently was the destination of choice tonight. Heidi and Eric had wandered off an hour or so before we were all to meet for dinner so when they hadn't made an appearance by 8:15, Steve, Lynn, Margene and I headed off. Lynn bet us that we would find Heidi and Eric at this place. She was right!

The best decor item in the place tonight was Margene(!) but the food was pretty as well, so a little more food porn for those who are into it. Steve's sliced duck salad was more of a main course than an appetizer. It took all four of us to finish it. Lynn had the duck eggrolls, Margene opted for the roast pork, Steve and I went for a very meaty rack of lamb. Margene also tried the mousse of chocolate and pistachio.

Take a look at the childrens' menu in France and you know you're not in Kansas anymore! This one offers a choice of duck or roasted fish with pasta and ice cream. I'm sure the French could even make macaroni and cheese sound sexy, but I appreciate that they are thinking children are capable of more intelligent choices.
