What can I say about the Gouffre de Padirac? It is an extensive underground cavern with a river running through it. It was discovered in 1899, but when I saw the massive hole in the earth that leads down to it, I had to wonder how anyone missed it before that! Cameras are not
Rocamadour is on three levels -- the chateau level at the top, the cathedral level in the middle and the city level on the bottom. We took the funicular down to the chateau level and poked around a bit, but by then we were all getting overheated and decided to pass on the city level. Maybe we have just seen enough stone houses for the moment.
