The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur Down Under
November 7 - Auckland/Coromandel

The road around the Coromandel Peninsula reminds me of the California Coast Highway - narrow and winding . . . and I had to drive it on the left side of the road! The views are spectacular, however and it is a definite change from the big city! We are staying in a B&B Inn called the Jacaranda, set on 6 acres about 3km out of Coromandel Town. There are cattle grazing in the front yard and sheep in back with flowers all around. With any luck, tomorrow will bring a shot of Margene feeding the baby lamb . . . or high-tailing it from an irate ewe! Tune in to see!

This just goes to show that you are never too old for a happy childhood! Oh, and since we got in too late to get a good photo yesterday, we should include a shot of Jim & Adrienne McPhee's home in the Auckland suburbs.
