May 22 - Orvieto

I thought this captured the feeling of what it must be like to live in Orvieto. Old tile roofs, little balconies, patios and gardens, ancient stone buildings.

Two views of Orvieto from the top of the tower. The shot on the right shows the Duomo (cathedral) and the one on the left gives a feel for the jumble of buildings, alleys and piazzas that make up the place.

The view of Todi from a wide spot in the road from Orvieto. The road winds along the Tiber River and Lago di Corbara. It was a pleasant drive that would have been even better on a motorcycle!
