The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur In France
May 29 - Nolay

Cafe de France, Nolay Sarl Ste Marie, Nolay An auberge, Nolay

Nolay is one of the prettiest towns in Burgundy. Around every corner is another postcard shot. The café on the left embodies the spirit of French cafes, at least for me. The restaurant in the middle is where we had lunch (not much to choose from at 1:30 in the afternoon, it seems) and the ancient place on the right was part of an inn (auberge) located next to the market hall. If it looks like the front of the building is sagging, you are seeing it correctly. I was tempted to take a look in the rooms on the first floor to see if the floors followed the same line!
