The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur In France
May 29 - Nolay
A bit of the old market hall in Nolay. The roof is sliced stone supported (since the 1300's) by a massive chestnut beam structure.
Another of the ancient half-timbered houses of Nolay. A shot of Margene at lunch today. Is that a pretty face or what?
We didn't have much luck catching a barge going through one of the locks, but we found this private barge tied up in a small town. The owners were out walking the dog and stocking up on groceries. Very civilized.
