The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur In France
June 3 - Giverny, Crecy la Chapelle

Crecy la Chapelle Crecy la Chapelle Crecy B&B

Crecy is a nice little town. It has obviously been there for awhile but it is a bit more modern than the villages of Burgundy. It was really a nice re-introduction to "civilization" as we get ready to head for home. The B&B we stayed in is on the right. Pleasant enough but definitely not the social event we found with Patrick and Laurence!

The line to see Monet's garden House near Monet's garden

Welcome to Giverny and the line to get into Monet's garden on a Sunday afternoon -- and it isn't even the tourist season yet! The wait was over an hour in line, and after two hours in traffic to get there, we opted to cut our losses and head for home. The area around the gardens was pleasant, however. The shot on the right is of the entry to the home of one of the resident artists.
