The daily diary of two wandering souls in Europe
August 1 - Burgundy

La Rochepot Vezelay

Burgundy is a lot older than the Loire Valley. We started off in Autun where there are a lot of ruins from the Roman times (no photo), then to Beaune in the heart of the Burgundy wine country (Margene has all those photos, too!) Then it was on to La Rochepot, a castle built by a returning Crusader and finally to Vezelay, a hilltop fortress town dating from the 1100's.
