Saturday afternoon at the Caffe Centrale in Umbertide. It seemed like half of the old men in town were playing cards on the piazza ... and the other half were inside watching the soccer match on two big screen televisions. It was certainly the social center for the senior set.
Dieter and Hildegarde Rinderer from Austria are with us for the week. They brought some interesting breads, cheeses and wine from home which added a nice international dimension to our rather simple supper. It is easy to overeat in this country so we were pleased to have a lighter way to fill the void this evening.
