The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
April 23 - Coffee in Montepulciano

We always seem to return to Montepulciano when we come here. It is the classic Italian hill town with great shops, exceptional wine and a look and feel that is quite different from anything else we have seen.

We started our day with coffee at the Cafe Poliziano, a classic cafe with a Vienna-like feel to it. From there we wandered the streets soaking up the charm of the town. The word that always hits me like a hammer here is "texture" -- the town is incredibly tactile.
