The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
April 24 - House-Hunting in Umbria

I notice that we are taking far fewer pictures this year than in the past. Some of that is undoubtedly because we are revisiting places that we have alreade seen before but I also suspect that it reflects a general level of acceptance of how things are here. If it seems like no big deal, there is less of an impulse to photograph it.

It is similar to a relationship. Over time, the excitement of new discovery is gradually replaced by a simple comfort in being together. It is just as enjoyable, but in a different way. Perhaps we are getting to feel that way about Italy ... or at least this particular part of it.

John and Suzanne Miller hard at work on the terrace. The second shot is the view from the third house we saw. You are looking at the town of Castiglione del Lago with its castle and fort located on the western shore of Lake Trasimeno. We will try to get together with Katia on Friday to see what else is available at the moment. Might as well see what we can while we are here.

Sandra was hard at work in our kitchen, whipping up the goodies. The happy campers take a break between the pasta course and the main course.
