The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
May 2 - Chateaudouble, Fayence

We spent most of the afternoon and evening around the town of Fayence.

This is a nice little hill town with some interesting architecture and a small old quarter.

We ate lunch at a local pizzeria, watching the vendors pack up after the morning market.

The Restaurante Patin Couffin is a tiny place on a corner in the old town. Very cave-like but with very good local cuisine. As always, though, it was the people that made the experience -- in this case Pascal the cook and Virginia, the totally over-the-top owner.
