The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
May 2 - Chateaudouble, Tourettes

A few scenes from the morning road trip.

Getting a feel for Chateaudouble. There wasn't much to see here ... but it really felt good.

The village of Bergamon is perched on the top of a hill up in the mountains. All over the area you see these plane trees, nubby and knarly until they leaf out in the summertime.

The little village of Tourettes is right next to where we are staying and adjacent to the larger village of Fayence. There was not much to see here except the old clock tower from the 12th century. The old chateau has been renovated into apartments and has a commanding view of the valley.
