The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
May 4 - Dinner at the Hotel du Cheval Rouge

The dining room had a formal feel to it although none of the guests were particularly dressed up. From the awards and plaques on the wall, however, it appears that their chef is well-regarded. He certainly did a nice job for us.

A different twist on escargot -- a delicate "sandwich" with a dozen escargot in a delicate sauce with julienne vegetables. Margene and I both had the Bresse chicken for a main course, this being the Bresse region of France noted for its signature chickens which come with a certification medallion clipped to the breast. For dessert I went for the assorted cheeses. This is the selection I had to choose from. Lots of WOWs in this meal.
