December 7 - Ristorantes del Dio


For lunch I went around the corner to Osteria le Potazzine. It was the typical small family operation but unusually bright and cheery due to the wall of windows on the front. For lunch I had an excellent pea soup followed by the pasta of the day, a tagliatelle in a rosemary cream sauce. Very pleasant and not too filling.

For dinner I decided just to stay in the hotel. Turns out I was one of three meals they served. Winter has to be a tough time for these folks. I suspect as in most resort areas, there is a love/hate relationship with the visitors. The duty manager was, I suspect, one of the owners of the hotel. He spent most of the meal talking with the two gentlemen at the adjacent table, something that would have been infuriating in a US restaurant but which I have come to understand is very Italian. When in Rome ...
