The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
May 2 - Versailles

We had lunch in an outdoor cafe next to the palace. The waiter had to run the food across the street and up into a little park area where the tables were set up. Would workers comp cover if he got hit by a car on the way? I also stuck in a couple of photos of a Versailles branch of a French restaurant chain called Quick. They bill themselves as a hamburger restaurant.

Interior shots of Quick. The menu and service would be familiar to American fast food patrons but the interior feel is much more upscale. Perhaps "fast casual" actually got its start years ago in France!

For dinner we wandered down the street and around the corner to a little Swiss restaurant where fondue and raclette were the order of the day. There seem to be a number of these restaurants in the neighborhood.
