The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
February 18 - Heidelberg

When you look at the old town section of Heidelberg from the north side of the Neckar River, you are immediately struck with the presence of Schloss Heidelberg, the castle on the hill.

A view of the old town from the castle. This is a shot of the Thick Tower, or what remains of it after its 25-ft thick walls were blown up by the French in the late 17th century.

Looking toward the couryard entry bridge from the Thick Tower. The angled piece in the foreground is the blown out section of the Thick Tower. At the right is the main courtyard of the Schloss.

Margene finally found her knight in shining armor ... but those shoes!
