The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
February 3 - Odds and Ends in Udaipur

We opted not to beat our clothes on the rocks in the lake, but laundry does have to be done. Good thing we had a huge bathroom. The door locks in India are most interesting. We found key cards in the more upscale hotels but the heritage properties still do it the old way.

We had thought we might go through the City Palace after lunch but just couldn't muster the energy to do it. Somehow touring one more museum did not seem all that compelling. We did stumble into an old cart once used by the Maharajah. It was designed to be pulled by two elephants ... now that is something you don't see every day, at least around my neighborhood.
