Lugano, Switzerland Lugano, Switzerland

Lugano, Switzerland is probably the largest commercial center in the lakes region. I remember having a picnic lunch in the park with my mother back in 1970. My mom is no longer here, but the park is as pretty as ever . . . and it is a good memory.

We took the ferry back to Verbania from the little town of Levano, a 20-minute ride across the lake. Levano itself is a pleasant if unmemorable resort area surrounded by some spectacular private villas.
