The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
May 16 - Imola

Ristorante San Domenico has two Michelin stars (there are only a handful in all of Italy) and has been in business since 1970. On the right is the plate of complimentary appetizers.

The presentation of a second appetizer -- a parfait with chicken and avocado, also complimentary. On the right, the assortment of complimentary dolce (sweets) that came with the meal.

A shot of a small part of the 20,000 bottle cellar and Livio, the sommelier who somehow knows where everything is. There are eight rooms ... and no bin numbers! The inventory includes bottles that are almost 200 years old. We had a 1984 Pio Cesare Barbaresco followed by a 1981 Barolo.
