The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
May 23 - Umbria

The mysterious castle turns out to be Castello Antognolla, now owned by Prada, the famous Milan fashion house, who is developing it as a new resort property. The golf course is just behind the fence. On the right, a postcard scene from the town of Corciano.

A few scenes around Corciano. I particularly liked the round tower with the hanging cage where they would put condemned prisoners and let them die. I guess the idea was to scare off would-be attackers. It certainly would scare me off!

Citta della Pieve, our first hill town and still one of our favorites.

Gudiolo -- our villa on the side of the hill.
