The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
May 26 - Lucca

Sometimes the choice of a place to eat is determined by the weather. Today it was off and on rain in Lucca and as we passed this café, the rain came on! We were about ready to take a lunch break anyway so we ducked under the umbrellas.

Dinner was at the Villa Pasquini, an agriturismo near our B&B. The villa itself dates from the 1700's and sits on 80 acres of olives, grapes and fruit trees. Cristina and her brother bought the place about 8 years ago and have done a wonderful job of restoration. The dinner, while simple, was one of the best we have had on the trip ... and very reasonably priced.
