All it takes to make Margene really happy is a bigger room on a lower floor with a great bathroom and a lakefront balcony! The little girl on the right was on the boat with us today. What do you think? Is she Italian? German? American? English? French? We are all just people here.
We tucked into a tree-shaded café for a cold one while waiting for the boat in Como. When the rains hit during dinner, we evacuated the patio for the inside dining room and ended up with some charming and unexpected table-mates. Hans Dieter and Sibylle Genthner drove down from Stuttgart, Germany for a week of vacation during school break. He is a teacher in his last year before retirement, at which point they plan to spend at least half their time in South Africa where he formerly taught.
