The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
June 2 - Milan Galleria

On the Duomo Piazza is the famous Galleria, one of the world's first enclosed shopping malls. Pity they don't build them like this now!

A little bit of performance art under the Galleria rotunda ... and a sign that is a little less arty.

Around the edge of the rotunda are the signs of the zodiac in mosaic tiles. For reasons unknown, it has become tradition to put your heel on the equipment of the particularly well-hung Taurus and spin around. It is supposed to bring luck in love ... unless, I suppose, you happen to be the stone Taurus. I don't know if the tradition is supposed to work only for women, but I noticed very few men taking a spin. Perhaps they can relate.
