The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
May 11 - Umbertide and Gubbio

The Wednesday market in Umbertide is one of the closest and best around. We spent most of the afternoon sitting in the cafe watching how the various booths packed themselves up!

A few of the crew, caught unaware while watching the Umbertide market fold up.

After the market was all packed up, we headed for Gubbio, a hill town about half an hour away. It is known for its ceramics ... and for being tough to walk around in! A gelato and an hour our so of climbing streets was enough for us ... but there were some postcard shots here.
