The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
May 16 - Lunch in Pienza

We arrived late for lunch (by Italian standards) and grabbed a seat in the sun at La Mensa, next to the park (and the parking) in Pienza.

We decided to do our big meal at noon again. Margene opted for bruschetta (pronounced broos-ketta, by the way) and I went for the ribollita, the traditional Tuscan bread and vegetable soup. Then to pastas and a grilled pork cutlet and espresso. All this with a nice bottle of Rosso de Montalcino. I also ordered a lemon sorbet which I thought had a nice presentation.
