The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
September 28 - Hangin' Out at Home

We are pretty much in the middle of nowhere here. The closest town is Montebenichi which we can just see at the top of the ridge. The old towns were always built on the high ground for defensive reasons, just another reminder of how predatory life was in those days.

There are horses in the fields across the road from the house. The estate also has a polo field but it is far enough away that I don't think these horses are polo ponies ... but then, you never know. We also saw a dozen or so deer in the field a few nights ago. So far those are the wildest critters we have encountered.

Perhaps not the most flattering picture of the group but there will be more. From left to right: Pat Gray, Linda Simmons, Hap Gray and Ray Byrnes. And then there is our genial host, Patrick ... who I suspect will also get a better picture somewhere in this travelogue.
