The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
October 28 - Cuzco

We started the day at the Cross Keys Pub, an English-style pub owned by a local Englishman. Not surprisingly, it has become quite a gathering spot for the area's ex-patriots ... although there were not a lot of them around at 11:30 this morning! For dinner, I went to a delightful restaurant called the Inka Grill on the Plaza. The entree of choice was guinea pig ... which was the most expensive entree on the menu! Peru is breeding these critters that weigh in at 2-3 pounds. While the musculature was unfamiliar, the taste was pleasant enough. Who knows? You might see guinea pig on a menu near you someday soon! Personally, I would offer it just for the talking power.
