The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
November 1 - Machu Picchu

Lunch was a buffet at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, the only lodging at the ruins themselves. They really did a wonderful job with the food quality and presentation.

The luncheon surprise was the roast suckling pig -- not something that you see on your everyday buffet!

My birthday dinner was at the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, located just down the railroad tracks in Aguas Calientes. It is the premier property in town and their kitchen was excellent. (It was pouring rain the night we came here, so we took these photos the following day.)
