The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
Could We Live Here?

Roy was the speaker at his Rotary Club luncheon meeting a short way east along the coast from Carvoeiro in the delightful town of Armação de Pêra. He invited us to sit in for his program with the promise we could skip the big lunch with the attending Rotarians. Roy talked about his personal and professional journey focusing a lot on his love of flying. It was a side of him we never knew and made for an interesting half hour.

When the group headed down to lunch, we hit the street. The town has a spectacular beach and a broad promenade lined with apartment buildings and commercial shops. It's hard to tell how many of the apartments are permanent residents and how many are seasonal, but it would be a lovely view to wake up to each day. We concluded that, yes, we could live here ... if we could afford it! Might be worth more examination.

It was too nice a day to eat inside and the outdoor umbrellas of Busiris beckoned. We kept it simple as we usually do -- an omelette for Margene, a club sandwich and a beer for me. Turns out that was our "big" meal of the day. We've got munchies at the apartment that filled in the blanks later in the evening.
