In the end, it is always about the people . . . and we certainly found some wonderful people at the Hotel Stadt Melk. Here are Hermann and Gertrude, the owners and Christl the ever-present waitress. Hermann's son Thomas is the chef. The only thing that surprised me is that while they all speak English quite well, there was not an English menu to be had. In fact, we have not encountered one anywhere in Austria
