The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
May 28 - Welcome to Budapest

At the suggestion of Paul, our host at Pension San Marco, we walked about seven blocks to an unlikely local restaurant . . . that just happens to serve great food! The name is Hazapô Môkys which translates into something like the Hungry Rodent. From the Disney-esque cartoon character on the sign, we have just been calling it the Happy Chipmunk! (That sounded a little better somehow.) From the outside, it looks a bit like a maximum security lock-up. The side deck, however, is rather pleasant and a great place to have a glass of wine and watch the rain.
