The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
May 29 - Budapest

Budapest Market

The huge Budapest Market is the largest and most spectacular of Budapest's late-19th-century market halls. The lower level is mainly food -- dairy products, meat, poultry and produce -- while the mezzanine level features folk items, handicrafts and some fast food booths. The selection is extensive . . . and about 25-50% less than what the similar items sell for on the street.

Seth, Ethan Jenny Seiderman

Meet Seth, Ethan and Jenny Seiderman from Melbourne, Australia. Seth is an American born in New York and raised in Northern California. They are both high school teachers and are on an extended around-the-world trip with their two-year old son. How can teachers afford the time and money to do that, you ask? It seems that in Australia, after ten years on a job, you are entitled to six months off with pay! Not bad!
