May 31 - On the Road to Lake Bohinj

Quite literally -- for us at least -- the road to Lake Bohinj . . . and this was the wide, smooth part!

Lake Bled on the left. Its most recognizable feature is the little island with the church on it. On the right is the view of Lake Bohinj from our hotel balcony. It was fascinating to sit on the balcony as the sun was setting and watch how the light patterns changed the look of the mountains. This area is called the Julian Alps and is tucked just below the Austrian border. You get all the scenery at half the price!
