The daily diary of a wandering restaurateur
June 4 - St. Gilgen
On the left is the Gasthof zur Post. The shot was taken after dinner, so the sun was setting. On the right is a small board located on the stairway at our hotel. It has a picture of all the staff members and a little writeup about what they do. I thought it was a great way to help personalize the experience in a small operation.
The Seegasthaus Fischer Wirt on the shore of the lake in St. Gilgen.
What better merchandising for a seafood restaurant than a tank full of live trout? I didn't see the chef running out here with a net when I ordered, so I am not sure how long the fish stay in here or exactly how it is used, but it certainly makes the point about what their specialty is!
