The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
Wandering the Streets of Edinburgh

A few scenes around Edinburgh. We didn't get deeply into the old town other than what we could see along the Royal Mile ... but we will be back again next Saturday, so perhaps then. The weird gothic monument -- seriously in need of cleaning -- is to Sir Walter Scott ... and his dog! I was interested to see kilts as an item of daily clothing. It is more the exception than the rule except at formal affairs but every other shop along the Royal Tourist Gauntlet will sell you an outfit ... whether or not you have the knees to pull it off!

The trees haven't started to leaf out yet but the daffodils are coming into their own and the signs of spring are everywhere. It is a wonderful contrast to all the gray stone of the buildings.
