August 6 - Brugge

We spent the day in Brugge, an ancient city near the ocean that is still substantially as it was 500 years ago. It is a blend of incredible architecture and intimate canals and, if it weren't so jammed with tourists, would have been a total delight to stroll through!

Perhaps not a spectacular scene, but I did want to acknowledge our VW Polo that gave us such good service for the last two weeks. It cruised nicely at 150 km/hour (about 90) when the conditions required it. About the only thing we could have wished for that we didn't have was air-conditioning! Next time . . .
