The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
Dolce Far Niente

The sweetness of doing nothing. We didn't plan it that way today, but that's the way it worked out. Margene woke up feeling poorly, dosed up on drugs and waited for the ache to subside. Around noon we finally acknowledged that perhaps the day had flown and what we had was probably what we were going to get.

Not that this was a great day to do much. Unlike the sunny start yesterday, Tuesday dawned darkly overcast, foggy and cold. I made my morning "cherchez le quiche" pilgramage to the boulangerie ... and finally managed to coax Elisabeth into standing still for a photo.

So Margene read, I got my weekly e-letter written, we munched on goodies from the boulangerie. In short we generally vegetated until mid-afternoon when we decided we had to get out of the house or go crazy. The sun was breaking through and it seemed like a stroll through the back streets of Nolay would do us good.

The plan for tomorrow is to hit the street market in Autun. We can't be in Europe this long without making it to at least one market day. When we spent the month in Provence last year we would hit at least three a week!
