The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
May 14 - Getting Lucky in Thira

The soul of Lucky's is the proprietor, Lucky. This man genuinely loves people and takes great pride in making them happy with his food. It is easier to talk that talk than to walk that walk, but if you met Lucky, you would get it instantly. I suspect that is why the place was packed the entire time we were there.

This is a tiny place, open to the street, with a small table in front, two in the back and about ten stools at the bar. He offers several items on his menu but gyros and souvlaki were the only thing I saw sold while we were there. He proudly declares that he has the best food on the island. After deciding to make this our lunch stop, we all firmly agreed. The lunch tab for six of us with a round and a half of beer? About US$30!
