The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
A Wee Dram (For Research Purposes)

Another day, another exploration, this time headed north a bit from Inverness. Margene had a few places on her list to look for, mostly castles that had been the setting for scenes in her books.

Of course, we couldn't be in Scotland without visiting at least one distillery and Glenmorangie won the toss, more or less by default. The hostess in our guest house said it was the most popular Scotch in Scotland (and who would know better?) and it was right off the main road. It doesn't get much easier than that.

After a quick tour and a wee dram with our delightful hostess, we headed north again. (Drinking and driving -- it's so ... American!) Next stop, Dunrobin Castle, home of the Dukes and Earls of Sutherland. It was downgraded from a dukedom many years ago, probably to punish some real or imagined slight to the crown! The photos tell all these stories better than I can ... and besides, I am a few days behind in my scribe work and want to get caught up!

Work, Work, Work ...

Dunrobin Castle
