The Daily Diary of a Wandering Restaurateur
September 24 - Ansouis

The purpose of this trip is really to get the lay of the land and scope out what we need to know before arriving here for a month next September. So we didn't want to visit any of the "sights" -- prefering to make those new experiences we can share with our friends. I suspect we will be quite blase by the end of the month but we might as well start out with a few things to discover and explore.

But the road did call to us, so we motored off to L'Ile Sur la Sorgue, a delightful town about an hour away where we rented a house a few years back. It is home to a disproportionate number of antiques dealers and has two huge market days a week.

Then it was home for an afternoon nap and dinner at the B&B. Michel offers a light meal to his guests three nights a week. It was a very pleasant offering and at 15 euros each, the price was a no-brainer ... especially considering that last night's meal set us back 115 euros! (To put in into perspective, figure 1.5 dollars per euro).

Tomorrow we drive to Nice (about 2 hours or so east) where I will turn in the car. We will spend the night in a hotel by the train station so we can walk over to catch the 10:00 train to Pisa on Friday morning.
